Mike Hill (2011-2012)

Mike Hill was lucky enough to draw his White Mountain sheep tag as a “First Alternate” in the lottery drawing.  He took this handsome ram on opening day at an elevation of 12,000 ft.  This was the first ram harvested in California for the 2011-12 season.  There were five rams in the group bedded on an open shale slope at a distance of 650 yards.  They stayed bedded for 9 hours before getting up and feeding into a canyon.  We were then able to close the distance to 140 yards.  Great job Mike, congratulations!

Bill Hays 2011-2012

Congratulations to Bill Hays for harvesting the largest desert bighorn ram from the White Mountains of California for the 2011 season!  Bill booked his hunt with us shortly after trying the hunt on his own with no success.  Tim and Cliff along with guides Clay Gibert and Jason Lyman were able to locate this great ram on day two of the hunt. After several hours of “extreme stalking” Bill was able to seal the deal with a shot from his 7MM mag. at 354 yds.  Great shooting Bill!  His ram was aged at 9 years old and scored 163 5/8”.  We hunted at an elevation of 11,000 – 13,000 feet above sea level.  This country gives new meaning to the phrase “Breathtaking Views”.  The White’s are one of the toughest Desert Sheep hunts you can find but a job well done by one tough hunter.

Mark Dickson (2011-2012)

As the open zone tag holder for the 2011-12 season, Mark was able to hunt several different mountain ranges with us. He ended up harvesting this awsome179 B& C ram in the Orocopia Mountains. We watched this ram for most of the day. Finally late in the afternoon Mark took full advantage of his only opportunity with a great shot at 240 yards.

Great job Mark, Thank you.

Rich Papapietro (2011-2012)

Rich had the Auction Tag for the Marble/Clippers and new South Bristol hunt units. He took this beautiful ram with an excellent 460-yard shot. Because we got the ram late in the day, several miles from the vehicles, Rich also got to experience packing a desert sheep out with the use of headlamps. Congratulations Rich!

Dale Soditus (2011-2012)

Dale is a guide himself and owns and operates Wildlife Out West out of Clearlake, CA. He drew his tag in the Sheep Hole Mountains and took the #2 ram to ever come out of the unit. A five plus hour stock, an excellent shot, a beautiful desert ram and a great new friend. It doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you Dale and Congratulations!

Britt was the only woman to harvest a Desert Bighorn sheep this year in California. She wasn't going to allow her medical issues to stand in the way of her sheep hunt. Britt made an unbelievable shot of 422 yards to harvest in her words "the most beautiful ram in the Old Dads". Congratulations Britt and husband Dan on a most memorable hunt!
